Governance Structure and Membership

Kingston Educational Trust is a Multi Academy Trust, which is a state funded educational charity and a company limited by guarantee, with no share capital or shareholders.

It was incorporated on 17 December 2012 and is governed by its Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association and Funding Agreements with the Department for Education.

Kingston Educational Trust has two layers of governance: its members and its trust board. Whilst it remains responsible for statutory compliance and the performance of schools within the Trust, the board can delegate its functions to committees. It has a finance and audit committee known as the Buildings, Finance and Resources Committee, together with a  local academy committee for each school. The level of delegations to these committees is recorded in the Trust’s Scheme of Delegation which can be found on the Trust Reporting and Documents page here.
